Chief Executive Recruitment

Welcome from Martin Samworth, Chair of the RICS

I am delighted to have been appointed as RICS’ Chair, and excited about the change we’re going to deliver on behalf of our members in the coming years. The RICS is a complex institution with multiple commitments to its members and stakeholders, so balancing our many responsibilities will be critical to future success and relevance. I see this as an exciting part of the challenge.

It is a broad institution which advances and facilitates access to surveying knowledge by maintaining and promoting the usefulness of the profession, and by leading, supporting and regulating a body of skilled professionals who demonstrate the highest ethical and technical standards. RICS should be bold and passionate, ambitious and challenging, and must speak out positively to influence the issues that matter.

You will join a business with strong foundations and be empowered to make your mark on our profession, and the built environment generally, in a high-profile, autonomous role. We’ll challenge you to transform and improve our business, providing inspiring leadership to ensure that we are recognised as a pro-active, innovative and member-focused global professional body which operates at the forefront of our sector.

RICS must be dynamic, authoritative and attractive to a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, but also to new young professionals in particular, who have an important role to play in keeping us relevant.

As a strong advocate for change and evolution, I believe passionately that the role of CEO has the potential to make a significant difference and positive impact on both the profession and its standing in both the built environment and the wider business world.

This is an opportunity to lead our development at a critical stage in our history. If this sounds like the challenge for you, we look forward to hearing from you.
